The software update contains code c= hanges applicable to Avaya Modular Messaging Restricted Outlook Client when instal= led against the following message stores:

This software updat= e can be used with any of the following 32 bit versions of Micro= soft Outlook:


§ Outlook 2010 SP1


§ Outlook 2007 SP2


§ Outlook 2003 SP2 or SP3


This software update can be used on computers running any of the following operating systems:


§ Microsoft Windows XP Professional with SP2 or SP3


§ Microsoft Windows XP Professional N with SP3


§ Microsoft Vista (32 bit) Business Edition with SP1


§ Microsoft Vista (32 bit) Enterprise Edition with SP1

Important Notes


Prior to installing this software u= pdates, the following considerations must be observed:


§ Avaya does not support the Restr= icted Outlook Client running in a Citrix Environment.


§ After installation, when given the choice to reboot, the installer should select to reboot.


§ When Outlook is re-installed or upgraded, the Restricted Outlook Client needs to= be re-installed.

§ wi00891774 Windows 7 64-bit: Users will get a popup "Please wait while Windows config= ures the MM client" each time Outlook is opened.


§ wi00896917 = Outlook may unexpectedly close when users using Spanish language pack try to reply = or forward to voicemail messages.


§ wi00897868 = Outlook 2003 & 2007: Outlook = may unexpectedly close on start-up. Users will experience an message “The add-in “C:\Program Files\MICROSOFT OFFICE\OFFICE11\Addins\mp4ol11.dll..” could not be installed or loaded. This problem may be resolved by detect and repair." before Outlook closes.


§ wi00900543 = In rare scenarios, Outlook may unexpectedly close when starting up.


§ wi00932019 &nb= sp; When a user starts Outlook and the MM servers are not availabl= e an offline notification (popup) appears that &= nbsp; hides behind Outlook.


§ wi00936016 = Parenthesis in the subject line will cause the text after the first parenthesis to be ignored when the message is sent.


§ wi00937146 = Outlook 2010: Users will experien= ce an Outlook crash when using the "mailto" link from any site.


§ wi00937352 = Outlook may unexpectedly close when the Avaya root folder is not expanded and user clicks on the root folder.

Before you begin


Please read the following notes before you install this update to Avaya Modular Messaging. Also be sure and check the = Known Issues section and the Special Install Instructions section to check for any installation issues.

Post-Install


1. = Open the About Modular Messaging dialog and verify the version number is 9.2.603.10000 .


2. = You will have to add the MM Message Service to your Outlook Profile. For instructions on configuration refer to section 3 in the User Guide availabl= e at Avaya support website (http://support= .avaya.com/css/P8/documents/100069517)


3. = If you see a distorted view of the voice form on a Vist= a client machine, you should try to change the theme from "Windows Vista" to "Windows Classic."


Special Installation Notes


Command line optio= n to install the Restricted Outlook Client


= Setup_ROC.exe /s/v"= ;/qn[PropertyName]=3D[PropertyValue]"

Custom propert= ies that are available at command line are:


§ STORE_TYPE: Valid value – MSS (Mandato= ry)


§ MAS: It will accept valid IP address or Name. (Mandatory)


§ CLIENT_TYPE: Valid value is OUTLOOK. (Option= al)


§ LANGUAGE_ID: Valid value is 409. (English)


§ INSTALLDIR: Valid value is the path where the client needs to be installed.


§ EDIT_SUBJECT: To enable editable subject lin= es for voicemails. Valid values are 0,1 (Optional, default: 0)


· 0: Subject of voicemail is duration of messa= ge recorded in seconds.


· 1: Subject line field is editable for new voicemails and replies/forwards.


§ TERMINOLOGY: Valid values are 1,2 (Optional = for new install, Default:1)


§ 1 (Microsoft terminology e.g. Mark as Read),=


§ 2 (Voicemail terminology e.g. Mark as Heard)= .


NOTE: The terminology can only be decided at the time of installation. Once set the terminology cannot be cha= nged if the client is upgraded.


§ REBOOT: Valid values are Force and ReallySuppress. (Optional, default: Force)


§ Recommended to leave the default value for an upgrade. It would cause autom= atic system restart at the end of the installation.


Example of the= command Line option:


Setup_ROC.exe /s /v”/qn INSTALLDIR=3DC:\Program Files\Avaya Modular Messaging MAS=3D198.152.137.9 LANGUAGE_ID=3D409 EDIT_SUBJECT=3D1”


Above example = will not generate logs. To generate logs please see below given example.


Setup.exe /s /v”/qn INSTALLDIR=3DC:\Program Files\Avaya Modular Messaging MAS=3D198.152.137.9 LANGUAGE_ID=3D409 SAVE_INSENT=3D1 /l*v C:/MM_Install_log.txt


Note: Command line properties must be specified with no space between the option (/v) and its parameters. Please follow syntax exactly as per example= . To know more about Msiexec command line options run “msiexec /?” or see ht= tp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc759262(WS.10).aspx .


Uninstalling this release wou= ld remove the application altogether from the user’s desktop. =


1. = Open the Add or Remove Programs from the Windows Control Panel.


2. = Select " Avaya Modular Messaging Restricted Outlook Client” in the list and press "Remove".


3. = You may see a dialog requesting you close any open applications that are known = to interfere with uninstalling this update. Please ensure that the Voice Form = and Outlook have been closed.


4. = The un-installation will automatically continue and uninstall the application.


5. = You may be prompted to reboot the system, press the Restart button and the syst= em will reboot. The system should be rebooted even if not prompted to do so.


§ wi00557521 Outlook 2010: Users will not be able to view their messages in the Avaya Inb= ox when Conversation View option is enabled.


§ wi00854268 After modifying the subject line and saving the voicemail the changed voicemail should be shown in the opened voiceform. If the sorting of messages in Outlook is done on Subject field a different voicemail may open= up instead of the changed voicemail.

§ wi00386156 Users may receive an error message "Cannot open folder&qu= ot; when trying to open Avaya folders after installation.


§ wi00387390 If more than one voicemail message is present in the Outgoing = Queue, subsequent messages sent will get stuck in the Queue. When messages are stu= ck, if users restart Outlook all the messages in the queue will be lost when Outlook opens.


§ wi00411536 &nb= sp; After installation of the ROC using an administrative account = and performing the required reboot, a further reboot will be required when a non-admin user creates a profile for their MM account.


§ wi00462148 Outlook 2010: While traversing between voice mails using the Previous and N= ext buttons on the voiceform, users may experience an unexpected error and voiceform closes.


§ wi00599527 User may experience an Outlook crash when they try to open an administrative message (DSN).


§ wi00653965 QSIG: Pausing and resuming the recording of a voice message or gree= ting causes the recording to be distorted. This occurs only when GSM is encoding configured.

§ wi00686440 The Advanced Find option is no longer present after installing= the ROC. The user can customize the toolbar from Tools->Customize menu to bring b= ack the Advanced Find option. Note, installing this new client will not automat= ic correct this.


§ wi00686444 &nb= sp; Avaya Inbox sometimes may not refresh to show new messages. Us= ers have to close and restart Outlook to get the new messages.


§ wi00700773 When a user right clicks on ‘Caller’ field in the = voiceform and then chooses the Properties option, the caller properties are not shown= .


§ wi00700777 &nb= sp; If the user clicks ‘Send’ whilst recording through telephone is still in progress, an error may be encountered when opening subsequent voicemails.

§ wi00824314 [Outlook 2010] - Configuring MSS= account under exchange user's profile in Outlook causes Outlook to crash.

§ wi00850994 When a user modifies the subject line of a voicemail in the voiceform and clicks save, the voicemail highlighted in the voicemail folder changes.


§ wi00854268 After modifying the subject line and saving the voicemail if t= he users try to forward the voicemail without closing the voiceform they will encoun= ter an error message.


§ wi00854586 = In the voiceform if a user clicks on the "Caller" some names may not= get resolved.
