OneDrive system requirements
OneDrive requires an active Microsoft account. For help with creating a Microsoft account or signing in, see: Microsoft account help
The OneDrive desktop sync app requires the following:
Operating system: 32- or 64-bit version of Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7, or Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 and the Platform Update for Windows Vista; Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008 R2, or Windows Server 2008 with Service Pack 2 and the Platform Update for Windows Server 2008, or Windows Server 2016; or Mac OS X 10.9 or later.
Note: OneDrive will be phasing out support for the following operating system versions in November: Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Mac OS X 10.9. For more information, see OneDrive End Of Support Notice.
Processor: 1.6 GHz or higher, or Intel-based Mac computer
Memory: 1 GB of RAM or higher
Resolution: 1024 × 576 minimum
Internet connection: High-speed Internet access is recommended.
File systems: NTFS or HFS+ (case insensitive)
The OneDrive mobile app requires one of the following:
A phone or tablet with Android 2.3 or later (Android 4.0 or later for Camera Backup and other features). Get the Android app.
An iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 9.0 or later Get the iOS app.
A phone running Windows Phone 7.5 or later. Get the Windows phone app
For the best experience on the OneDrive website, we recommend using the latest version of Edge, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.
The OneDrive desktop sync app isn't supported on Windows XP or Linux.
OneDrive desktop sync app functionality is built into Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 and now supports connecting to OneDrive for Business to sync your work or school files. For more information, see Get started with the OneDrive for Business Next Generation Sync Client in Windows.
