Energy Efficiency Options

comes as standard with 28mm double glazed sealed units with a centre pane U Value of 1.2 W/(m 2 K) delivering a window U Value thermal efficiency of 1.37 W/(m 2 K) which is better than A Rated and more than 14% better than the current industry minimum standard of 1.6 W/(m 2 K)

is our enhanced additional cost option which has 36mm triple glazed sealed units with a centre pane U Value of 0.8 W/(m 2 K) delivering a window U Value thermal efficiency of 1.0 W/(m 2 K) which is significantly better than A Rated and almost 40% better than the current industry minimum standard of 1.6 W/(m 2 K)

is a revolutionary new window that has 44mm triple glazed sealed unit with a centre pane U Value of 0.62 W/(m 2 K) delivering a window U Value thermal efficiency of 0.8 W/(m 2 K) which is twice as efficient than the current industry minimum standard and one of the most thermally efficient windows on the market.

When size matters! The thermal efficiency is derived from a combination of the type of glass, the cavity size between the glass and the gas used to fill the cavity. 28mm triple glazing with argon gas actual has a higher centre pane U Value of 1.3 W/(m 2 K) than 28mm double glazing (1.2 W/(m 2 K)) due to a restricted size of the cavity.

Replacement Unit Energy Efficiency Enhancement Program

Modern PVCu window frames have an average lifespan of up to 35 years which is far and in excess of the 10 -12 year life span of glass sealed units and hardware both of which we can replace. During the last 12 years regulations have dictated that windows become more thermally efficient, both a trend and requirement that is set to continue.

In March 2002 replacement windows were required to have a thermal efficiency of 2.0 W/(m 2 K) which was achieved by the use of hard coated glass most notably Pilkington K glass. Since then the requirement has become more stringent where in October 2010 a formal ratings system was introduced and the minimum standard improved by 20% to 1.6 W/(m 2 K), a C rating.

Our Eurocell Energy Efficiency Enhancement program allows our clients to upgrade the thermal efficiency of their EXISTING Eurocell Logik windows by reducing the current heat loss by up to 50%. The improvement involves the replacement of the current sealed units in the existing frames with improved or energy efficient glazing and can, if required, also include the replacement and upgrade of the existing locks and hinges together with mastic sealing and solvent cleaning of the frames.
