Stay in the Loop
CPM, Swervo propose 10-story building for Minneapolis’ North Loop
CPM and Swervo Development are the latest developers to jump into the North Loop neighborhood development race in Minneapolis, with a proposal for a 10-story office building.
The Minneapolis companies hope to build it on a block that’s now a surface parking lot between N. 5th Avenue and the Cedar Lake Bike Trail, according to city documents made public Friday.
The plan faces its first public test on Thursday at a Minneapolis Planning Commission Committee of the Whole meeting.
The project is a late entrant in a flurry of speculative office towers proposed for the area. It sits diagonally across railroad tracks from the only such project to get off the ground: the T3 building that’s under construction by developer Hines.
Bloomington-based United Properties is considering a 10-story office building at the foot of the Target Field Station light-rail stop. Minneapolis-based Schafer Richardson is fleshing out plans for an 11-story office building nearby. All four projects are within four blocks of Target Field.
