SUNVIEW WINDOW FEATURES

SolarBan70 LowE Dual Pane Glass with Argon gas fill (standard)

Glass is an important component of all windows and doors. SolarBan70 LowE is a microscopically thin, virtually invisible coating deposited on a glass surface. This coating limits radiant heat flow between window panes by reflecting heat into your home during cold weather and back to the outdoors during warm weather. You also have the option to upgrade to an even more efficient glass option, 366 LowE Glass with Neat.

Warm Edge Super Spacer®

The Super Spacer® is the world’s only all-foam, NO-Metal edge seal product that reduces condensation, frosting, and mold growth while providing the highest levels of energy performance.

Interlock and Hardware

The reinforced overlapping interlock on the Sunview Double Hung is designed to significantly reduce air infiltration. It also helps as a security barrier for your home, featuring standard dual locks at the highest quality. The reinforcement provides strength for long-term durability of your windows.

Mold Resistant Weatherstrip

The average Sunview Double Hung has over 40 feet of fin seal weatherstrip. It helps reduce outside noise and infiltration of exterior gases such as carbon monoxide.

Tilt-In Window

Your Sunview Double Hung utilizes special pivot bars/pins on the sash and in the frame. Both sashes tilt-in for easy cleaning or removal from inside your home. In the single hung windows, only the bottom sash would tilt in due to the top sash being stationary and the glass being glazed directly to the main frame.

SUNVIEW WINDOW STYLES

Double Hung and Single Hung

Double hung windows are the most common choice for homebuilders. Double hung windows contain two panes which both slide vertically. The SunView product line also offers a single hung window in which only the lower sash is moveable and the top sash is stationary. In this case, the lower sash still pivots out for easy cleaning and access to the top stationary glass.

Awning and Hopper

Awning - Similar to a casement window as it also opens on a hinge. The main difference between the two styles is that an awning window opens horizontally rather than vertically, which somewhat limits how far it can be opened. One benefit of this set-up, however, is that awning windows can often be left open during storms because the open pane deflects rainfall.

Hopper - Essentinally the same as an awning window, but opens at the top rather than the bottom to the inside of the home. For obvious reasons, this style does not direct rain away from the interior.

Like doors, casement windows pivot on hinges. This style opens outward and is operated with a hand-crank. Our unique casement handle allows the crank to be neatly tucked into the handle case on the window sash. According to Better Homes and Gardens, casement shapes tend toward the tall and narrow, so wide wall openings usually feature several windows mulled together as one unit.

Picture Window, Transoms or Fixed Units

A picture window is a fixed window that does not open or close. Picture windows are often used as transoms or side lights next to a large window or door. Many homeowners use a large window to provide an expanded view.

Double Sliders and Single Sliders

These windows open horizontally. On a single slider, only one sash operates while the other is a stationary piece of glass built into the frame. On a double slider, both sides operate. We make a variety of sliding windows which can also be tilt in, swing in, or lift out for easy cleaning.

Specialty Windows and Shapes

Lindsay has several other types of windows that may be right for your application. We offer common shapes such as half rounds, circles, eyebrows, trapezoids, octagons and many more. Just ask!
